First Ride of the Year
So today I went out with 3 buddies for a ride. First real ride of the year. I have been out on some family rides, and one other 15 mile ride basically flat. I really am trying to get back in shape- and a friend invited me out for a ride. Ended up being 23 miles, fairly flat, one really small hill. Let's just say a small hill for Colorado. But it's a pretty large hill for the midwest where I have done all of my previous cycling! Not to mention altitude. I survived it, had to walk my bike up the last part of the hill (embarrasing, not ashamed, just embarrassed:). You gotta start somewhere! So here it is, a GPS map of today's ride. I had my GPS turned on for the ride and exported it to Google Earth. I notated where I had to walk my bike. Compared to the mountains on the far left, yes this is a baby beginner hill. Kicked me in the rear though!
