Coors Field

Kinard Middle School Choir singing the national anthem at Coors Field, before a Rockies game against the Dodgers on Monday April 30.  Quinn is in this choir, even though the video is too far away to see him :).  They did a nice job!

Champs!

Way to go Quinn! The Rocky Mountain Phoenix won their tournament this weekend.  They swept through the bracket yesterday going 3-0 for a composite score of 29-7.  Great hitting and defense carried the day.  By my unofficial scoring, Quinn batted .667 with an on base percentage of .714. He had a 3 run HR and a bases loaded triple for a 7 RBI and 3 Runs scored day.  Great weekend for the Phoenix!  I happened to have the camera in my hand for his home run, if you look at the pictures in sequence you can see the swing and its fun to look at all the peoples heads in the sequence as they look up to follow the ball, and then his teamates greeting him as he came in. Fun weekend.

Mongolian Countryside

We drove 1.5 hours cross country in LandCruisers to get to this families home. They hosted us in their ger (Mongolian house), serving us traditional food and playing traditional music for us. Memorable. These are really great people.

Mongolia

I'm in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia for the ELIC 20th Anniversary celebration of our Partnership with the government and people of Mongolia. A great evening with about 60 guests including the US Ambassador, the Chairman of the Ministry of Education, the head of all Police countrywide, and all our wonderful teachers. :)

HE IS RISEN! Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me...

But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said...."

Fun Week!

The kiddos and Joy were off school a few days last week, and I took a couple days off work.  We hiked, fished, ate, shopped, ate, watched March Madness, went to baseball practice, crossed things off the "to do" list, and had a great family fun week.

One of the things we got is a.....drum roll please...a NEW CAR!!! (cue the brass fanfare music). Actually, NO. Just a new camera :)  In some ways it's more fun than a new car.  So, without delay here are some pics of our family fun taken with the new cam, and hopefully you see some nicer quality pics on this phlog (photo log) :) from now on.
